Makoto International Patent Attorneys Office is an intellectual property specializing patent firm in Japan, which is operated under a joint management system by three patent attorneys. 　However the firm is a young patent firm which was established on December, 2003, the three patent attorneys boast an abundance of experience and know-how in connection with intellectual property and are prepared to offer service that will benefit all clients. 　We are looking forward to hearing from you and working for you. 　Please feel free to contact us.

The name of our firm “MAKOTO” means sincerity and reliability in Japanese. As you may see from this name, our firm sets the protection of our client's interests as its prime concern under our motto of “Attend work with sincerity”. 　The firm has won the deep trust of clients with its efforts under this principle. Of course, we firmly refuses to accept work that conflicts with other accepted work.

Unlike the conventional Japanese patent firms which merely copy patent application documents on inventor's drafts, we prepare proactive proposals by maintaining close contact with clients from the initial proposal stage of inventions so that our clients obtain truly effective protection by intellectual property. 　Also, we desire to contribute towards enhanced consciousness of the inventor in relation to intellectual property through close contact with clients from the initial proposal stage of inventions. 　In this manner, we work for the benefit of clients with their interests foremost in mind.

In our firm, patent attorneys well versed in the fields of chemistry, machinery and electricity collaborate closely with each other to handle all cases. The feature of this system is that work in all technical fields is handled by specialists. Moreover, our firm has abilities of providing total intellectual services. 　(1) Designs, trademarks, and on matters of unfair competition law as well as patents and utility models 　(2) Judgments, appraisal, contracts, and suits as well as application.

Although our firm is very new, all the partners are thoroughly experienced in Japanese patent applications by foreign clients, and foreign patent applications by Japanese clients. 　Normally in Japanese patent firms, there are many cases where non-qualified personnel handle overseas- related work, but in our firm, the respective partners directly handle all cases, based on their knowledge and experience. Therefore, appropriate advice can also be offered to foreign clients.

Brief history 1965 Born in Nara-shi 1987 Graduated from Mechanical Engineering Dept., Engineering Faculty, Doshisha University 1987 Joined Horiba Seisakusho Co., Ltd. 1994 Joined a patent firm 1996 Acquired patent attorney qualifications (Registration No. 10942) 2001 Passed English proficiency examination semi-first class 2003 Established Makoto International Patent Attorneys Office 2003 Acquired qualifications for specific infringement counsel Profile 　Mr. Suzuki is responsible for work on patents relating to mechanical engineering and overseas matters. 　He has handled many cases of patent application procedures, validity and infringement judgments as well as counseling of clients. 　Also, he is well versed in litigations and contracts. 　After graduating from university, he joined the Horiba Seisakusho Company which is one of the leading venture enterprises in Japan where he worked in development designing. Thereafter, he entered the intellectual property field. At the patent firm where he worked, he handled many cases as a partner responsible for patents in general and gained experience. Moreover, since he was a partner in charge of overseas- related work at the patent firm, he acquired an abundance of experience in patent application procedures from Japan to foreign countries and from foreign countries to Japan. Consequently, he is able to give beneficial advice to foreign clients. 　Thereafter, in 2003, together with patent attorneys Ouchi and Ohnaka, he established the Makoto International Patent Office. 　His hobbies are soccer, baseball and golf.

He is also well versed in nano-technology 　He has handled many cases of patent application procedures, validity and infringement judgments, as well as counseling of clients. 　Also, he is well versed in litigations and contracts. 　After graduating from postgraduate school, he worked in the development section of Sumitomo Metal Industries Co., one of the leading companies in Japan. Thereafter, he entered the intellectual property field by working in a patent firm where he handled many cases in the electronic and electrical fields and gained experience as a partner of the firm. 　Also, he handled many cases of Japanese patent applications by foreign clients and therefore, he is able to give beneficial advice on these matters to overseas clients. 　Then in 2003, together with patent attorneys Ouchi and Suzuki, he established the Makoto International Patent Office. 　His hobbies are Karaoke, golf, and walking.

He is also well versed in litigations and contracts. 　After graduating from university, he joined one of the leading trading companies in Japan, Iwatani Sangyo, and then joined the field of intellectual property at a patent firm where he handled many cases and gained experience. Thereafter, he established the “Makoto Patent Office” the predecessor of “Makoto International Patent Office”. In 2003, together with Patent Attorney Suzuki and Patent Attorney Ohnaka, he established the Makoto International Patent Office. 　His hobbies are skiing and KARAOKE and it is said that his KARAOKE singing is that of a professional level.
